Halloween-Inspired Fall Wedding at The Desmond Albany NY | Brigid + Ben

There was so much to love about Brigid and Ben’s beautiful fall wedding at The Desmond in Albany, NY. From the moment I met them, I knew their day was going to be a fun one!

Unlike many of my couples, I didn’t get the chance to meet Brigid and Ben during an engagement session before their wedding. Since they don’t live in the area, the first time we actually met in person was on their wedding day! I wasn’t quite sure what to expect walking in, but within minutes, any nerves were gone. Brigid and Ben were so down-to-earth, welcoming, and genuinely fun to be around. I think I laughed with them for most of the day!

A Halloween-Inspired Fall Wedding at The Desmond

Brigid and Ben chose The Desmond in Albany, NY for their wedding celebration, and Brigid incorporated touches of Halloween into the day while still keeping everything beautifully elegant.

The rich fall colors were perfect for an October wedding and gave the entire day that warm, romantic autumn feeling. I loved how the Halloween inspiration added a little personality to their celebration without taking away from the timeless feel of the wedding.

But some of my favorite moments from this Desmond Albany NY wedding had nothing to do with the decorations.

They were all about family.

A Wedding Ceremony Filled With Emotion

There were plenty of teary eyes during Brigid and Ben’s ceremony—including mine.

One of the most meaningful moments was watching Brigid’s grandparents walk down the aisle as the ring bearer and flower girl. It was incredibly sweet, and you could feel how special it was to Brigid and her entire family to have them be such an important part of the ceremony.

Sadly, Brigid’s grandfather has since passed away.

Moments like this are such a powerful reminder of why photographs matter so much. Wedding photography is about documenting the beautiful portraits and all of the details you’ve spent months planning, but it’s also about preserving the people you love and the moments you don’t yet realize will become some of your most treasured memories.

I’m incredibly honored that I was there to capture photographs of Brigid’s grandfather and the images of their family together on such a special day.

A Packed Dance Floor at Their Albany Wedding

Once the reception began, the mood quickly shifted from emotional to an all-out celebration!

The dance floor was absolutely packed throughout the night as Brigid and Ben celebrated with their family and friends. Love of Music Entertainment kept everyone dancing, and there was such a fun energy in the room.

Those are some of my favorite receptions to photograph—the ones where everyone is completely present, enjoying themselves, laughing, dancing, and celebrating the couple.
