Mohonasen Prom 2026

There are some moments as a mom that you know you’re going to want to hold onto forever, and Cameron and Trevor’s prom was definitely one of them.

This year was extra special because it was Cameron’s senior year and Trevor’s junior year. Mohonasen High School holds one prom for both juniors and seniors, which meant my two oldest boys got to experience prom together. As their mom — and, of course, their photographer — I loved getting to capture this milestone for both of them.

Before heading to the prom walkthrough at Mohonasen High School, we made a stop at the beautiful Schenectady Rose Garden for photos. Trevor met up with his group of friends, while Cameron came with his girlfriend, Avery.

Photographing Trevor and his friends was especially meaningful to me. Most of these boys have been close friends since fourth grade, when we first moved to the Mohonasen school district. I’ve had the privilege of watching them grow up together over the years, and seeing the friendships they’ve built is something pretty special.

They’ve gone from little elementary school kids to young men getting dressed up for prom — and somehow that happened in the blink of an eye.

After photos at the Rose Garden, Cameron and Avery came back to our house for one more very important photo stop.

They needed pictures with Ken’s baby — his 1971 Corvette Stingray.

I mean, if you have a classic Corvette sitting in the garage and your son is dressed for his senior prom, you HAVE to take advantage of it! Cameron and Avery looked amazing, and the Corvette made the perfect backdrop for some of their prom portraits.

Then it was time to send them off and let them enjoy their night.

One of my favorite parts actually came later, when Cameron and Trevor got home. I loved listening to them talk about the night, the things that happened, the people they spent it with and all of the memories they had made.

As a parent, you spend so many years watching your kids grow up. You worry about them, cheer them on, drive them everywhere, sit in the stands, take the pictures and wonder how the years can possibly be moving this fast.

And then you get nights like this.

Seeing Cameron and Trevor surrounded by people they love, making memories with friends they’ve grown up with and genuinely loving this season of their lives makes my heart soar.

Cameron is getting ready to close out his senior year, while Trevor still has one more year of high school ahead of him. I know there are so many changes coming for our family, which makes me even more grateful that I had my camera in my hands for this one.

These are the moments I never want to forget.
