A Beautiful & Historic Church Ceremony on the Hudson River

The rain could not damper the mood of Donna and Kris as they were surrounded by family and friends in a beautiful ceremony to become husband and wife. The St. Mary of Snow Church in Saugerties, NY is full of history and charm. Walking up to the church, I was in awe of the sheer beauty. The steeple soared to the sky and the brilliant blue doors welcomed you in. Even before I knew the history of this church (read all about it here), I could feel the energy as soon as I walked through the doors. As soon as I walked in, I was greeted by Father Chris. He is such a wonderful and kind man. He has a big booming voice that drew you in. His sermon was filled with humor, kindness and warmth that made you want to come back on Sundays.

Donna and Kris are avid golfers, so it was only perfect that they had their reception at the RIP Van Winkle Country Club. In fact, that is where Kris proposed to Donna – at hole 8!

Following beautifully written toasts and cheers by their friends and family, Donna and Kris surprised their guests by a very special announcement – they are having a baby!!!! Guests all leaped and cried as they ran to surround Donna and Kris to congratulate them.

I was so happy that the rain lighted a little after dinner so we could venture out. I do not golf, so driving the golf cart (which pretty much only happens on wedding days) with all my gear on my lap with the rain pouring down was an adventure! Thankfully I was able to follow Donna and Kris on their golf cart and made it to hole 8 without incident, barely.

Friends and family celebrated with the new couple on a packed dance floor and danced the night away to music by DJ Joe Garcia.
