Sara and Bryan celebrated their elegant wedding at The Desmond Hotel in Albany, NY. From the moment I arrived, these two were all smiles, surrounded by their family and friends and so excited to finally celebrate their marriage.

Their wedding day began with one of my favorite moments – a private vow reading. Before all of the excitement of the ceremony and reception began, Sara and Bryan had a quiet moment together to read the vows they had written for one another. There was plenty of laughter mixed with a few tears, and it was such a sweet and personal way to start their day.

After their vows, we took advantage of the remaining daylight for portraits and family photos around The Desmond. With a November wedding, the sun disappears quickly, so we made the most of every bit of light we had before it was completely gone.

A Romantic Courtyard Ceremony at The Desmond

Once the sun had set, it was time for their wedding ceremony in The Desmond’s beautiful courtyard. I’ll admit, I was a little nervous about photographing this ceremony after dark. The only lights are the skylights above and lampposts that are scattered around – but the courtyard looked incredible. The soft ambient lighting created such a warm and romantic atmosphere and ended up being perfect for their ceremony.

Surrounded by the people they love most, Sara and Bryan officially became husband and wife.

Two People Who Truly Put Others First

I first met Sara and Bryan earlier in the year during their engagement session, so I already knew what genuinely kind people they were. Their wedding day only confirmed it.

Both Sara and Bryan have careers centered around helping others—Bryan works in law enforcement, while Sara is a Physician Assistant—and their caring personalities were something their family and friends spoke about throughout the reception.

During the toasts from Sara’s siblings and father and the speech from Bryan’s best friend, story after story showed just how much these two care about the people around them. It certainly wasn’t surprising to me. Throughout their own wedding day, Sara and Bryan were constantly checking on everyone else, making sure their guests were happy and had everything they needed.

They really are just the sweetest couple, and it was such a pleasure getting to know them and being trusted to photograph such an important day in their lives.

An Absolutely Packed Dance Floor

Once the formalities were over, it was time to celebrate!

Digital Musicians Entertainment kept the party going, and when I say the dance floor was packed, I mean PACKED. Their family and friends came ready to celebrate, and the energy lasted throughout the night.

Sara and Bryan’s wedding was also my final wedding of 2024, and I couldn’t have asked for a better way to close out another incredible wedding season.

Congratulations, Sara and Bryan! Thank you for allowing me to be part of your beautiful day and trusting me to capture all of the laughter, tears, quiet moments, and celebrations along the way.
