Simone + David | Wedding

OMGosh!! I am so thankful every day that I get to capture moments like weddings. This job isn’t for everyone, that’s for sure! The stress leading up to a wedding day sometimes is overwhelming but when I’m there, capturing beautiful moments it gives me such a feeling of purpose and I love every single moment. This was my first wedding of the year and my nerves were working overdrive! I had nightmares of forgetting my flash, all my batteries being dead and forgetting where the ceremony site was. haha. But thankfully, none of that happened and it was a perfect day.

Simone and David’s wedding at Birch Hill Catering was so elegant. Because the rain held out, they were able to have their ceremony outside overlooking the pond and fountain as planned. Under the arbor dressed in florals, Simone’s brother delivered one of the most beautiful ceremonies I have heard. The ceremony had the perfect amount of humor, advice and sentimental stories.

During the ceremony, I noticed a dragonfly flying up the aisle, hovering over guests heads and then land on the bouquet of flowers at the end of her aisle where he hung out for a little while. I wish I could have captured him with a macro lens, but I was happy he was still enough to let me get a photo. I always thought of dragonflies as a symbol of peace and happiness; so how perfect was it that he appeared at their wedding?!

After the ceremony and following family & bridal party photos, Simone and David wanted to be sure to make some of their cocktail hour to visit with their guests so I had to work some magic getting all of their photos in, but we did it!

As usual, at the reception, the parent dances got me all teary eyed! Simone and her Dad were so sweet together and her brother cried as he watched them. And when it was David’s turn with his mom, she couldn’t stop her tears as she danced with her son. Watching the emotions of a parent having that moment with their child is the sweetest thing ever.
