Saratoga Springs Senior Photos at Saratoga Spa State Park | Savannah
Senior sessions are always more meaningful when we can incorporate something that tells a little bit of the senior’s story, and Savannah’s fall senior session at Saratoga Spa State Park was the perfect example.
Savannah chose Saratoga Spa State Park in Saratoga Springs, NY for her senior portraits, and we couldn’t have asked for a better fall day. It was warm, the autumn colors were beautiful, and the park gave us so much variety to work with throughout her session.
But what made this session especially fun was getting to photograph someone I’ve watched grow up—Savannah is my cousin’s daughter!
Fall Senior Photos at Saratoga Spa State Park
Saratoga Spa State Park is such a beautiful location for senior photography because there are so many different looks available within one area. Between the architecture, pathways, trees, open spaces, and gorgeous fall foliage, we were able to create a gallery with plenty of variety without having to travel from one location to another.
For Savannah’s session, the fall colors were definitely showing off.
The warm autumn tones created the perfect backdrop for her portraits and gave us that classic Upstate New York fall look. As a Saratoga Springs senior photographer, these are the evenings I absolutely love—the weather cooperates, the light is beautiful, and we can take our time creating photographs that actually feel like the person I’m photographing.
Making Senior Photos Personal
I always encourage seniors to bring something meaningful to their session. It could represent a sport, hobby, musical instrument, activity, or simply something that has been an important part of their high school years.
For Savannah, that was her bowling ball.
And if you know my family, this isn’t exactly surprising!
Bowling definitely runs on my dad’s side of the family. My grandfather, uncle, cousins—and apparently just about everyone (except me) have been amazing bowlers. Savannah definitely inherited that gene! I was more of a ‘participation trophy’ winner when it comes to bowling. Don’t judge if you see the bumpers come out when I bowl!
Savannah has already accomplished so much as a student-athlete, including helping lead her bowling team to a Section 2 championship and earning the Section 2 Sportsmanship Award.
But Savannah’s high school experience has been about much more than athletics.
She has also been involved in varsity cheer, unified sports, and programs promoting inclusion within her school and community. Her leadership and involvement earned her recognition with the 2025 Capital Zone NYS AHPERD High School Leadership Award. You can read more about her accomplishments here.
Celebrating Savannah’s Senior Year
That’s one of the reasons I love senior photography so much.
Senior portraits celebrate what is actually a pretty incredible moment in someone’s life. You’re documenting the end of one chapter while they’re standing right at the beginning of another.
For Savannah, that next chapter will take her to Maryville University, where she plans to study early childhood and elementary education, with plans to continue into special education.
Savannah, I am incredibly proud of everything you’ve already accomplished and can’t wait to see where life takes you next.
Congratulations!
And thank you for letting me capture such an exciting chapter in your life.
