Fall Engagement Photos at Saratoga Spa State Park | Kellie + Dallas

Saratoga Spa State Park is one of my favorite locations for engagement sessions in the Capital Region, and Kellie and Dallas’s beautiful early fall session was the perfect reminder of why I love photographing couples here so much.

They chose the park for their engagement photos at the end of September, just as the first hints of fall color were beginning to appear. The cooler nights had started changing the leaves, but the days were still warm enough to enjoy walking around the park without feeling like fall had completely taken over yet.

It was the perfect combination for an early fall engagement session!

Engagement Photos at Saratoga Spa State Park

One of my favorite areas of Saratoga Spa State Park is the Geyser Loop Trail.

I’ve photographed quite a few sessions here over the years, and it continues to be one of my go-to locations because it offers so much variety without requiring couples to spend their entire session walking from one end of the park to the other.

Between the wooded trails, beautiful greenery, water, stone features, and changing fall foliage, we were able to create several completely different looks for Kellie and Dallas without ever going very far.

As a Saratoga Springs engagement photographer, that’s something I really appreciate in a location. It gives my couples more time to relax, have fun together, and actually enjoy their engagement session instead of constantly moving from one spot to another.

Kellie + Dallas’s Fall Engagement Session

From the beginning, I had a feeling Kellie and Dallas were going to be fun to photograph.

And I was right!

These two are absolutely adorable together. Their connection came so naturally in front of the camera, and it didn’t take long before we were laughing, talking, and just enjoying our time exploring the park.

Engagement sessions are one of my favorite parts of the wedding photography experience because they give us a chance to get to know each other before the wedding day.

Most couples aren’t used to having a professional photographer follow them around—and that’s completely normal! An engagement session gives you a chance to get comfortable in front of my camera, learn a little about how I photograph, and realize that you don’t have to know how to pose or what to do with your hands.

That’s my job!

By the time the wedding arrives, we’ve already spent time together, and being in front of the camera feels so much more familiar.

Fall Engagement Photography in Saratoga Springs NY

There is something especially beautiful about Saratoga Springs in the fall.

Late September gave us just enough changing foliage to add those warm autumn colors to Kellie and Dallas’s photographs while still keeping plenty of lush greenery throughout the park.

But the best part of their session wasn’t the location or even the fall colors—it was Kellie and Dallas themselves.

I love photographing couples who aren’t afraid to laugh together, have fun, and simply enjoy being with each other. Those little interactions are what make engagement photographs feel personal instead of overly posed.

Kellie and Dallas absolutely rocked their session, and I had such a great time getting to know them both.

I can’t wait to see what the next chapter brings for these two!
