Fall Wedding at Normanside Country Club | Delmart NY | Amanda + Kyle
Amanda and Kyle’s Normanside Country Club wedding was everything you could hope for in a fall wedding in Upstate New York—beautiful color, a little bit of rain, gorgeous light, and a couple who were simply so happy to be together.
I first met Amanda and Kyle during their engagement session at the Schenectady Rose Garden, and I immediately loved how down-to-earth they were. There is such an easy connection between these two. I love the way Kyle looks at Amanda and how her entire face lights up when she smiles at him. Getting to photograph that connection again on their wedding day was so special.
A Fall First Look at Normanside Country Club
Amanda and Kyle chose to do a first look before their ceremony, and the timing couldn’t have worked out better. A brief rain shower passed through just beforehand, leaving us plenty of time afterward to explore the beautiful grounds at Normanside Country Club.
We hopped on the golf carts and headed out to one of my favorite trees on the property. Late October had already brought some of the leaves to the ground, but there was still plenty of color left in the trees. The combination created the perfect fall backdrop for their wedding portraits.
And these two absolutely know how to work a camera!
I always joke about what I call the “model pose”—that serious, editorial expression that can sometimes be surprisingly hard to pull off. Amanda and Kyle nailed it. Of course, I love Amanda’s gorgeous smile too, but their more dramatic portraits are some of my favorites from the day.
Making Time to Enjoy Their Wedding Day
One of the advantages of doing a first look is being able to complete many of the formal portraits before the ceremony.
After Amanda and Kyle saw each other, we photographed most of their family formals. That meant we only needed a few additional photographs after the ceremony, giving them more time to enjoy cocktail hour and celebrate with their family and friends.
I always love when we can build a wedding-day timeline that allows my couples to spend more of their day actually enjoying their wedding.
A Beautiful Outdoor Ceremony at Normanside
Amanda and Kyle’s ceremony took place on the patio at Normanside Country Club overlooking the creek. As the ceremony began, the sun gave us the most beautiful warm glow.
They exchanged personal vows filled with stories about the night they met, memories from their relationship, laughter, a few tears, and promises for their future together.
Those are some of my favorite moments to photograph—the moments when everyone forgets about the camera and simply becomes completely present in what is happening.
Amanda and Kyle, thank you so much for trusting me to photograph such an important day in your lives. It was an absolute joy getting to know you both and capturing your beautiful fall wedding at Normanside Country Club.
I wish you a lifetime of happiness, laughter, and many more years of looking at each other exactly the way you did on your wedding day.
