Navita + Jeremy | Day 1 Mehndi Ceremony

OMGosh, talk about the wedding of a lifetime!! I was so honored to capture this beautiful 3-day Hindu wedding celebration. I have always wanted to photograph a Hindu wedding and when I received the notification that Navita and Jeremy wanted to hire me, I literally did a happy dance.

The first ceremony was the Mehndi ceremony. The Mehndi ceremony is when the bride is decorated with henna tattoo on her hands and feet. This symbolizes good luck, wealth, and health for the bride. Navita’s ceremony was held at her parent’s house where they had a tent set up with beautiful decorations. Her henna application took 7 hours!! It was so intricate and beautiful.

After her family presented her, she joined Jeremy on a stage and listened to beautiful music and singing and happy wishes from her family to start the wedding celebrations.
